PERBEDAAN AKURASI KADAR PEMERIKSAAN KOLESTEROL METODE Point Of Care Testing (POCT) DENGAN Chemistry Analyzer
The research was conducted at the Laboratory of Rumkit TK II Putri Hijau Medan using a quantitative comparative design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 33 samples were selected through accidental sampling based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were obtained from cholesterol examinations using the POCT method (capillary blood) and the Chemistry Analyzer method (venous serum). The average cholesterol level measured using POCT was 196.93 mg/dL, while the Chemistry Analyzer method showed an average of 187.78 mg/dL. The Paired Sample T-Test statistical analysis showed a significance value of p < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant difference between the two methods. The conclusion of this study is that the POCT method tends to produce higher cholesterol readings compared to the Chemistry Analyzer, but with lower accuracy. Therefore, the POCT method is recommended for initial screening, while the Chemistry Analyzer is more appropriate for clinical diagnosis and long-term monitoring due to its higher accuracy.
