IDENTIFIKASI JAMUR PADA SPUTUM PASIEN PENDERITA TUBERKULOSIS (TB) DI RUMAH SAKIT REGINA MARIS MEDAN TAHUN 2025
Objective: To determine the presence of fungal infections and identify the types of fungi in the sputum of TB patients at Regina Maris Hospital Medan. Methods: This research is descriptive in nature. A total of 20 sputum samples from TB patients were examined using Sabouraud Dextrose Agar (SDA) to culture fungi, followed by microscopic identification using Lacto Phenol Cotton Blue (LPCB) staining. Results: Out of 20 sputum samples, 9 samples (45%) showed positive fungal growth, while 11 samples (55%) showed no fungal growth. The identified fungal species included Candida albicans in 6 samples (30%), Aspergillus fumigatus in 2 samples (10%), and Penicillium spp. in 1 sample (5%).
