There are three phases of wound healing: the early inflammatory phase, the late inflammatory phase, and the
proliferative phase. The author's objective was to determine nursing care for post laparotomy patients in ensuring comfort. Post-laparotomy patients appear to be holding their abdominal area, and the surgical wound makes it difficult to mobilize and limits daily activities, which makes the patient feel uncomfortable. Comfort is a state of fulfillment of basic human needs, namely the need for peace of mind satisfaction that can improve daily performance), and relief (needs that have been met).
