HUBUNGAN INDEKS MASSA TUBUH (IMT) DENGAN KEJADIAN HIPERTENSI PADA USIA DEWASA DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS PANTAI LABU KABUPATEN DELI SERDANG
Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of respondents had an abnormal BMI, totaling 41 individuals (78.8%), while 11 respondents (21.2%) had a normal BMI. Thirty-five respondents (67.3%) had hypertension, while 17 respondents (32.7%) did not. The results of the Chi-Square test showed a
p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant association between Body Mass Index (BMI) and the incidence of hypertension among adults in the service area of the Pantai Labu Community Health Center in Deli Serdang Regency. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant association between Body Mass Index (BMI) and the incidence of hypertension in adults. The public is encouraged to maintain a healthy weight through a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and
periodic health checkups to prevent.
