HUBUNGAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN DENGAN SIKLUS MENSTRUASI PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI SMA N 1 LUBUK PAKAM

Background: Adolescence is an important period in physical and psychological development, where hormonal changes can affect the menstrual cycle. Stress and anxiety can disrupt the balance of hormones that regulate the menstrual cycle, causing disorders such as polymenorrhea and oligomenorrhea. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between anxiety levels and menstrual cycle disorders in female adolescents at SMA Negeri 1 Lubuk Pakam. Method: This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. A sample of 19 female adolescents was selected purposively. Data were collected through a questionnaire on anxiety levels and menstrual cycle recording. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test to see the relationship between variables. Results: The results showed that 78.9% of adolescents experienced menstrual cycle disorders, with polymenorrhea at 57.9% and oligomenorrhea at 21.1%. As many as 78.9% of respondents experienced anxiety at various levels of severity. The Chi-Square analysis produced a p value = 0.000, which indicated a significant relationship between anxiety levels and menstrual cycle disorders. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between anxiety levels and menstrual cycle disorders.
