EFEKTIVITAS RENDAMAN DAUN ANDONG (Cordyline Fruticosa) SEBAGAI PENGGANTI EOSIN 2% PADA PEMERIKSAAN TELUR CACING Soil Transmitted Helminth

Objective: To determine the effectiveness of andong leaf infusion as a substitute for eosin 2% in microscopic staining of STH eggs. Method: This study employed a true experimental design. Andong leaves were soaked in 2N HCl to obtain infusions at
concentrations of 20%, 40%, and 60%. Fecal samples were examined microscopically using these infusions and compared to eosin staining. Results: The 60% andong leaf infusion provided optimal staining, with background color and egg morphology clarity approaching that of eosin 2%. Lower concentrations yielded less contrast and clarity.
