PENGARUH SENAM KEGEL TERHADAP PENYEMBUHAN LUKA PERINEUM PADA IBU POST PARTUM DI KLINIK PRATAMA BIDAN NINING PELAWATI LUBUK PAKAM TAHUN 2025
Perineal wounds are a common issue experienced by postpartum mothers, particularly due to tears or episiotomies during childbirth. Improper or delayed treatment of perineal wounds can lead to prolonged pain, infection, and hinder the mother's physical and psychological recovery. One non-pharmacological method to support perineal wound healing is Kegel exercises, which can enhance
blood circulation and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles. This study aims to determine the effect of Kegel exercises on the healing of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers. The research design used was a pretest-posttest quantitative approach. A total of 18 postpartum mothers participated as respondents at Klinik Pratama Bidan Nining Pelawati Lubuk Pakam. Data were analyzed using the
Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that before performing Kegel exercises, all respondents (100%) had poor wound healing. After doing Kegel exercises for several days, 66.7% of respondents showed good healing progress. Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant effect of Kegel exercises on perineal wound healing in postpartum mothers.
