PENGARUH EDUKASI LAKTASI TERHADAP KEBERHASILAN MENYUSUI PADA IBU NIFAS DI KLINIK PRATAMA NINING PELAWATI LUBUK PAKAM TAHUN 2025

Background: Breast milk is the main source of nutrition for babies, so the WHO (World Health Organization) emphasizes that babies should be breastfed exclusively, i.e. only receive breast milk
for the first six months of life to achieve optimal growth, development, and health. Objective: This
study aims to determine the effectiveness of lactation education on breastfeeding success. Method: The sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling, which is a technique where sampling is carried out based on criteria that have been determined by the author.
Results: Based on the results of the normality test using Shapiro-Wilk, it was found that the success of breastfeeding before and after lactation education was not normally distributed (significance value 0.05). Therefore, the analysis was continued using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test, which is a non-parametric test used to analyze the difference between two paired data groups (pretest and posttest) in the same sample. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a Z-value of 3.606 and a p-value of 0.000. Because the p value is 0.05, it can be concluded that there is a statistically significant difference between the success of breastfeeding before and after lactation education. Conclusion: The results of this study are expected to help respondents understand the importance of breastfeeding and know lactation procedures so as to increase breastfeeding success.
