PENGARUH KOMPRES DAUN KUBIS (BRASSICA ALERACEA VAR CAPITATA) TERHADAP PEMBENGKAKAN PAYUDARA PADA IBU POST PARTUM DI KLINIK BIDAN NINING PELAWATI KECAMATAN LUBUK PAKAM TAHUN 2025
Background: Breast engorgement is a common issue experienced by postpartum mothers, which can cause discomfort and difficulty in breastfeeding. Various treatments have been used to address this condition, one of which is cabbage leaf compress (Brassica oleracea var. capitata), known for its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of cabbage leaf compress on breast engorgement in postpartum mothers at the Nining Pelawati Midwifery Clinic in Lubuk Pakam District, 2025.
Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach with a control group. A total of 30 postpartum mothers with breast engorgement were divided into two groups: the experimental group, which received cabbage leaf compresses twice daily for three days, and the control group, which did not receive any treatment. Data were analyzed using statistical tests to determine the difference in engorgement levels before and after the treatment. Results: The results showed a significant reduction in breast engorgement levels in the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Cabbage leaf compress is effective in reducing breast engorgement in postpartum mothers and can be considered a safe and easy-to-apply alternative non-pharmacological treatment.
