PENGARUH PEMBERIAN JAMU KUNYIT ASAM TERHADAP NYERI DISMENORE PADA REMAJA DI MAN 2 DELI SERDANG TAHUN 2025
Background: Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common complaints experienced by adolescent girls during menstruation. This pain can interfere with daily activities, concentration in school, and overall quality of life. The use of chemical drugs often causes side effects, hence the need for alternative treatments such as traditional medicine. Turmeric tamarind herbal drink is believed to have natural anti- inflammatory and analgesic effects. Objective: To determine the effect of turmeric tamarind herbal drink on dysmenorrhea among adolescent girls at MAN 2 Deli Serdang in 2025. Method: This study used a quantitative method with a pre- experimental design (pretest-posttest). A total of 38 respondents were selected using purposive sampling. The numerical pain scale was used as the instrument. Data were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-test. Result: The average pain score before the intervention was 2.53 and decreased to 1.68 after the intervention. The Paired Sample t-test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest. Conclusion: The administration of turmeric tamarind herbal drink significantly reduced dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls. It can be considered a safe and effective natural remedy for menstrual pain.
