PENGARUH KOMPRES HANGAT PADA PAYUDARA TERHADAP PENGELUARAN ASI IBU POST PARTUM DI KLINIK PRATAMA BIDAN NINING PELAWATI LUBUK PAKAM TAHUN 2025
Objective:
To determine the effect of warm compresses on breast milk expression in postpartum mothers at Klinik Pratama Bidan Nining Pelawati, Lubuk Pakam.
Method:
This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 35 postpartum mothers were selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using th Wilcoxon Signed-Rank test due to non-normal distribution as determined by the Shapiro-Wilk test. Results:
Before the warm compress intervention, all respondents (100%) experienced insufficient breast milk expression. After the intervention, 28 respondents (80%) reported improved milk expression. The Wilcoxon test showed a Z value of -5.292 and a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect of the warm compress.
Conclusion:
Warm compresses applied to the breasts significantly improve breast milk expression in postpartum mothers. This intervention can serve as a simple and effective method to support successful breastfeeding.
