IDENTIFIKASI ESCHERICHIA COLI PADA AIR ISI ULANG DI DAERAH KELUARAHAN SUKA MAJU DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE MEMBRANE FILTER
Objective: To determine the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria and assess whether the refill drinking water in Suka Maju Subdistrict meets health quality standards. Method: This study is experimental in nature, using the membrane filter method for microbiological testing. Results: The results of the membrane filter test on refill drinking water in Suka Maju Subdistrict, Medan Johor District, showed that out of 8 samples tested, 5 samples (62.5%) were positive for E. coli and deemed unfit for consumption, as they exceeded the maximum permissible level of 0 CFU per 100 mL of water. The remaining 3 samples (37.5%) tested negative for E. coli. The pH values of the samples ranged from 6.3 to 7.1, and the water temperature ranged from 28°C to 29°C. Based on the physical assessment criteria, 5 water depots met the physical requirements, while 3 did not, due to issues such as depot location, physical conditions, and filter maintenance.
