PERBEDAAN EFEKTIVITAS RAPID DIAGNOSTIC TEST (RDT) DENGAN PEMERIKSAAN MIKROSKOPIS PADA PENDERITA MALARIA KLINIS DI RS UMUM PATAR ASIH DELI SERDANG
This study used an observational design with a quantitative approach and involved 30 patient samples that met clinical criteria for malaria. All samples were examined using two methods: RDT and microscopic. The data were then analyzed using the McNemar test and calculations of sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), negative predictive value (NPV), and accuracy. The results showed that RDT had a sensitivity of 78.6% and a specificity of 93.8% compared to microscopic. RDT showed quite good performance, especially in cases with moderate to high parasitemia. However, microscopic examination was superior in detecting low parasitemia and identifying species. McNemar's test showed no statistically significant difference (p > 0.05) between the two methods.
