PERBANDINGAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER I,II DAN III TANPA RIWAYAT DIABETES MELITUS
The research employed a descriptive quantitative method with a comparative approach, conducted at Pematang Bandar Public Health Center, North Sumatra. A total of 15 pregnant women were selected using purposive sampling, divided equally among the three trimesters. Data were collected through capillary blood glucose testing using a glucometer. One-Way ANOVA analysis showed a statistically significant difference in the mean random blood glucose levels between trimesters (p = 0.010). The average glucose levels were 94.20 mg/dL in the first trimester, 97.00 mg/dL in the second trimester, and a significant increase to 132.60 mg/dL in the third trimester. The increase in glucose level during the third trimester is a normal physiological response due to increased insulin resistance, serving as an adaptive mechanism to ensure sufficient glucose supply for the rapidly growing fetus.
