IDENTIFIKASI BASIL TAHAN ASAM PADA SPUTUM PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS YANG MELAKUKAN PEMERIKSAAN TUBERKULOSIS PARU DI RSUD PANCUR BATU
This study employed a descriptive-analytical method aimed at determining the presence of acid-fast bacilli in the sputum of patients with diabetes mellitus undergoing pulmonary tuberculosis screening at Pancur Batu Regional General Hospital (RSUD), utilizing the Ziehl-Neelsen staining technique. The study was conducted between May and June 2025. The subjects consisted of diabetic patients undergoing pulmonary tuberculosis screening. Both primary and secondary data were utilized. The results showed that 6 patients (20%) tested positive for acid-fast bacilli in their sputum, while 24 patients (80%) tested negative. Among the 30 diabetic patients examined, the largest age group was 15–64 years (18 individuals, or 60%), followed by the group aged over 65 years (12 individuals, or 40%).
