HUBUNGAN SELF MONITORING BLOOD GLUCOS (SMBG) TERHADAP KONTROL GULA DARAH PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 RUANGAN 4 D DI RS GRANDMED LUBUK PAKAM TAHUN 2025

Data collection was carried out using SMBG questionnaires and blood glucose test results observation sheets. Data analysis was performed using a Chi-Square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. Results: The study showed that the majority of respondents (38.7%) were in the high SMBG category. 61.3% of respondents had uncontrolled blood sugar levels. The Chi-Square test showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant relationship between SMBG and blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between Self-Monitoring Blood Glucose (SMBG) and blood sugar control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Ward 4D of GrandMed Hospital Lubuk Pakam in 2025. Patients who regularly perform SMBG tend to have better controlled blood sugar levels. Education regarding the importance of SMBG, correct examination techniques, and ongoing monitoring is essential to improve the effectiveness of diabetes management.
