PEMERIKSAAN KADAR HEMOGLOBIN PADA PACKED RED CELL YANG DISIMPAN SELAMA 1 MINGGU DAN 2 MINGGU DI UNIT DONOR DARAH PALANG MERAH INDONESIA KOTA MEDAN
Objective: To determine the effect of storage duration on hemoglobin levels in packed red cells stored for one and two weeks at the Blood Donor Unit of the Indonesian Red Cross (UDD PMI) in Medan City. Method: This study is a descriptive-analytic research with a crosssectional design, aimed at identifying risk factor associations. The study also seeks to describe changes in hemoglobin levels of packed red cells stored for one and two weeks at UDD PMI Medan City. Results: The average hemoglobin level before storage was 13.9 g/dL. After one week of storage in packed red cell form, the average hemoglobin level decreased to 12.5 g/dL. After two weeks of storage, the average hemoglobin level increased to 13.6 g/dL. Conclusion: There was a decrease
in hemoglobin level by 1.3 g/dL after one week of storage, followed by an increase of 1.1 g/dL in the second week.
