GAMBARAN KADAR HbA1c PADA PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE 2 DI RSUD PANCUR BATU KABUPATEN DELI SERDANG
This research method is descriptive research. The sample of this study was the total population, namely all inpatients diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and had undergone HbA1c examination at Pancur Batu Regional Hospital in May 2025 as many as 39 people. The results of this study indicate that both male and female patients were unable to control their HbA1c levels. The majority of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients at Pancur Batu Regional Hospital were in the 51–70 age group, amounting to 23 people (58.97%). Type 2 DM often develops in older adults due to decreased insulin sensitivity, obesity, and an unhealthy lifestyle. In the 36–50 age range, although patients are more productive, they still show uncontrolled HbA1c. In patients ≥70 years old, poor HbA1c control is likely influenced by factors such as decreased physical ability, memory, adherence to therapy, and management of chronic comorbidities. Overall, there is a relationship between the duration of Type 2 DM and the patient's ability to control HbA1c levels. The longer the duration of DM, the greater the likelihood of patients having uncontrolled HbA1c levels.
